Yes, we both are Michael Jackson fans...my Mom and Grandma are sending me some Michael Jackson items that my Grandma had at her house. They include the original Thriller album, a MJ Doll (minus the glove, WTF) and about 13 MJ pins I used to pin to my 80's jean jacket. And a 45 of ABC. Pool and Backyard...

Ok, so the pool and landscaping was finished months ago! I finally shot a little movie...yes I know, it took me long enough! Enjoy

El agua en la piscina!

We have water in the pool! It's very cold water, but at least it's water. We can't heat the pool or whirlpool until next week so we will not be able to swim. Oh, well! Enjoy the video...and stay tuned for the video next week when we explain shrinkage!

Pebbles, no Bam-Bam!

The final coating on the inside of the pool was installed today. It is called Pebbletech and it looks very good! We should have water in the pool tomorrow. Yeah!! Cady makes another appearance.

Almost there...

The tile and slate has been installed on the pool. The pool should have water in it by this Saturday! We are almost finished...finally! Here is the latest video of the progress...

A little less sand...

The concrete has been laid. It is a light beige color with a salt finish (you can see it in the video). This coming week the water line tile and the stone around the whirlpool will be set into place. Not too much left after that! Tomorrow (Sunday) Darrins work is participating in the Golf Cart Parade in Plam Desert. He is dressing up as Buddy Blood drop and I am driving the golf cart. I will take the video-cam so hopefully I will get some good footage!

Halloween Moon

Yesterday, as the winds shifted the smoke from the fires started to come over the mountains. The sky has completely turned grey, and we can smell the smoke. It's far from the devastation that has affected so many...so in no way am I complaining. Lat night the particles that are in the air gave us a spectacular Orange Moon for Halloween...enjoy!

The frame is set...

The framing is set for the decking around the pool. This decking cement should be laid on Monday 10/22/07, followed by tile and the stone going around the whirlpool. We may be two weeks away from completion. But you know what construction projects are like. Here is the video showing the decking. Until next time...

Don't go chasing waterfalls...

The waterfall and diving boulders have been installed...within the next week the decking should be installed too. Everything should go quickly after that. Stay tuned...Oh, Cady makes another appearance!

The construction on the pool has been at a stand still for a bit. We picked out the boulders for the waterfall and the two additional boulders that go on each side of the pool for both design and diving. We also picked out the tile that goes around the waterline, the rock slab that goes around the whirlpool, the penny tile for the seating in the whirlpool and the lining of the pool which is all pebbles. I have samples of both the slab and waterline tile, but not the penny tile. So when I can get decent shots of those I will post them. Next week is when the boulders are scheduled to be placed, and hopefully the cement will be put on the pool too. Anyway, as soon as we get another install on the pool I will post another video.

Pool Skeleton and Boston

I have video of the recent construction on the pool, however I can not get it to upload on YouTube. I will try to upload it again and post it. Anyway, we just came back from a trip to Boston to see our friends Maria and Patti. We had a great time...one laugh after another. Once I get the pictures uploaded from the trip I will post them. We are having a pool installed in our backyard. The whole process should take about 8 weeks. So we are going to document the process with pictures and video. So here is the first video of the process...enjoy!

Cady has shoes!

Yes, you read that correctly. Cady has a pair of shoes, or should I say two pairs of shoes. They are cute little red shoes with treads. Why does she have shoes? First, we live in a desert and it gets hot! Walking in your bare feet (or paws in her case) can be a little intense. It's only going to get hotter, which means the ground will stay hotter longer. Since we don't want to walk Cady at midnight, she gets to wear shoes when it's really hot out. She has had them on once, and lets just say it's one of the funniest things you will ever see. She walks around like a seal with red shoes on! So you know what that means...the first video blog will not be of the house (sorry Gerri) it will be of Cady learning how to walk in her new shoes. Here's a little teaser...a picture of the shoes...it's not Cady modeling them, but you'll be able to see the shoes! Hopefully, I will have the Vlog ready tomorrow.
